Art is not just a passion for me—it’s a necessity, a lifeline that breathes joy into my existence. Each creation is a passionate endeavor, a testament to the courage and resilience of those who face life’s toughest challenges, much like my own journey as a left forearm amputee. Through my art, I express the profound lessons learned from unexpected twists of fate, complicated yet resolved.
I’ve chosen multimedia, but I’ve recently been drawn to acrylic fluid art. The scientific process behind acrylic fluid art is intriguing. I’m attracted to the lurking chaos in the pearl pour and swipe techniques and the life it brings to the canvas. I’m influenced by the colors and movement in nature and its ever-changing elements. It’s deliberate and reactive.
I meticulously recreate the shapes and shadows in nature, seeking to capture its essence on canvas, bringing my paint to life. I’m driven to push the boundaries, creating paintings that provoke thought and ignite curiosity in art lovers. The idea of someone contemplating my work, pondering its meaning, fills me with a sense of purpose.
For me, art is more than just creating—it’s a spiritual and emotional journey guided by the wonders of nature. It’s through my art that I find solace, inspiration, and the strength to face life’s uncertainties.
Madison, a multimedia artist from Ontario, boasts a long time artistic journey.
Signs of her artistic abilities began at a very young age. She majored in the arts throughout high school and her college years, while she honed her skills in drawing in pencil and charcoal, and then evolved into the use of watercolour, establishing a solid foundation that would later grow with the introduction of acrylics into her repertoire.
Her dedication to the arts was refined during a four-year education in Commercial Art and college degree in Interior Design.
Madison’s exploration of diverse mediums eventually led her to the captivating medium of acrylic fluid art. The inception of this passion followed the closure of her professional cake decorating business in 2012, marking a transformative period in her artistic trajectory as she navigated life after a left forearm amputation. This challenge both in life and in artistic expression, has become an emotional thread embedded into her work.
Amidst the ebb and flow of change and unpredictability, and years of introspection and a profound exploration of her connection with the world that surrounds her, has led Madison to a place of contentment. In her artistic process, she draws inspiration from the ever-changing rhythms in nature, allowing it to guide her emotionally and spiritually as she creates new life from hand to canvas – a testament to her enduring passion and resilience of her love for art.
